An extremely picturesque place once you reach there, the hike is quite tiring especially in hot and humid weather but once you reach the falls you feel fresh, the water is cold and a bath is a must. There are tiny fish in the pool that gives you a free pedicure. Do carry a water bottle along. It’s about a 40 minute hike.
The Bahubali Waterfall Rishikesh gained the name because of its falling style like in Bahubali movie, this is quite high, and the water cascades down in multiple tiers, creating a misty veil that surrounds the area. The sight is simply mesmerizing! You can feel the cool mist on your skin, even from a distance.

This is quite a walk on foot from Rishikesh, but worth a visit as it’s beautiful- so far removed from the dusty road below and all the noise of the town… There aren’t any signposts so you’ll need to ask people along the way as google maps only points you in the general right direction! Ideally, if you can rent a scooter or hitch a ride it’s best as there’s nothing else here to see except for the waterfall. To get to the waterfall you need to walk up the rocky trail.

It’s about 500m or so and can be done in flip flops, but better if you have some shoes with grip on them. You can also have a refreshing shower under the waterfalls and there is a tea stall (also selling water) right next to the waterfall and also at the bottom on the trail.
Lots of monkeys along the way and beautiful views of the ganga from the road too. If you love nature and need a break from all the noise, traffic and crowds then definitely check it out! Early morning or late afternoon is best. There were people there when I visited in the late afternoon (enough so you feel safe), but it wasn’t overly crowded.
It is not for elderly people or kids. very tough climbing. Not very great view. Small fall. During the climbing you will find one or two very small water bodies and two stalls of tea.

This place lies inside the buffer-zone of the Rajaji National Park Forest by the banks of the Ganges.
How to Get to Bahubali or Patna Waterfall Rishikesh
Bahubali Waterfall is not far from Laxman Jhula Bridge, you can opt to go by walk in 45 minutes, it is approximately 5 km from the Laxman Jhula Bridge, jut below the scenic neighboring village of Patna.
To reach this waterfall, you can either rent a motorbike or walk for just less than an hour on Neelkanth Temple Road, on the right side, towards south of the Ganges River bank.
The waterfall trail is by the Neelkanth Temple road, about 1 km from Garud Chatti Temple. On the main road, you see a few stalls selling snacks and chai. There are no signboards arrowing you to Bahubali or Patna Waterfall trail, but you’ll see it just opposite stalls.

Once you reach there at starting point opposite shop keeper’s stalls on Neelkanth Temple Road, you can check with shopkeepers about trails and waterfalls.
There is no fee required for Patna Bahubali Waterfall Rishikesh
This route for trekking is at some point a little steep but not difficult at all for most of the people with a reasonable level physical fitness.
Where to Stay in Rishikesh
Many spiritual backpackers, yoga enthusiasts, meditation seeker, Yogi, food explorer and Yoga teachers recommends to stay in the Tapovan area. There are lots of things to do, almost for every body there are some things to in Tapovan, since it is tourist hub area in Rishikesh. It doesn’t count too much for you whether you choose to stay on the south side, or the north side of Rishikesh, as everything is within walking and talking distance.
